About
From an early age, experiences within our families and the communities in which we live significantly influence who we are. As we attempt to navigate this swirl of experience, we develop strategies to cope with it all. Unfortunately, and despite our best efforts, some of these coping strategies can lead us into distressing cycles that affect our relationships and overall mood. In this case, we might need help to understand where these patterns come from. Fortunately, we can do this by working with a therapist to improve these “problems with living.”
In the therapeutic process of deepening our understanding of where we come from, we develop a more confident and enduring sense of self. By recognizing and accepting different parts of ourselves, and mindfully attending to our thoughts and feelings, we develop healthier ways of coping with life’s challenges and build more meaningful relationships.
If you are curious about what it might be like or if you are feeling motivated to begin this process, I am happy to talk more with you.
