From an early age, experiences within our families and communities significantly influence how we see ourselves. The losses and disappointments we try to avoid, from the past or present, can force us into distressing cycles that negatively shape our sense of the world and of our own potential. Often, we need help to understand what’s happening and what to do.

Therapy is a process through which we can deepen our understanding of our history, our fears, and our desires. With this we can begin to speak aloud what we previously thought was “unspeakable.” We learn to confront the shame, guilt and helplessness behind our suffering, and we understand and mourn the losses and disappointments that we have long dealt with alone. We can then liberate ourselves from these cycles and create a more meaningful life.

I often work with individuals more than once a week, as lasting change often takes time and effort. If you are curious to learn more about what this might be like, or if you feel motivated to begin this process, feel free to contact me.
