About
Starting your therapy journey can be anxiety provoking and intimidating. I commend you for taking this important step to show up for yourself. I believe that presenting symptoms are adaptive and protective forms of coping that you have learned over time. We are influenced and impacted by the many contexts in which we live, whether that be familial systems or systems of oppression. Uncovering root causes to symptoms and gently diving deeper into self awareness and understanding of your past and present experiences will be the cornerstone of our time together.
I strive to create a safe, collaborative, and warm space where we can explore, gain insight, and make meaning of your unique lived experiences. This cannot be done without a strong and trusting therapeutic relationship. I firmly believe that the relationship between therapist and client is one that promotes change and healing outside of our shared space.
It is a privilege to be able to listen to and hold your stories, whether they are full of pain or full of joy. I will meet you where you are at and we can move forward at a pace that is comfortable for you. I have a special interest in working with trauma survivors as well as non-binary and LGBTQIA+ folx.
