About

The therapeutic relationship is of utmost importance to me as I encourage clients to explore reactions and feelings in the here-and-now of sessions. I work from a self psychological lens integrated with object relations theory. These lenses emphasize childhood experiences and relationships to self and others from a place of deep empathy. Over time or after an event of significance, it is natural to feel a lack of choice in life; I believe self-understanding can increase access to choice so you may be empowered to shape and design your life.

I am currently completing a Master’s in Counseling at Northwestern University. During my practicum at The Family Institute at Northwestern University, I worked with traumatizing narcissism, depression, anxiety, chronic pain, and complex trauma. I hold an undergraduate degree in Music Therapy with a minor in Psychology from Montclair State University. My music therapy training required me to think creatively and to carefully design treatment plans for clients of diverse experience and backgrounds. My clinical experience in music therapy includes individual private practice, hospitals, memory care, schools, and group homes.

After I finish my internship at Depth Counseling, I plan to pursue a dual degree program in Clinical Psychology (PhD) and Law (JD) in the hopes of integrating psychology and law research. Currently, I work in Dr. Erika Lawrence’s Intimate Partner Violence Lab which studies an Acceptance and Commitment Therapy intervention with domestic violence perpetrators. I am also working on an article discussing psychodynamic understanding of sexual abuse.
