About
Therapy can be a unique experience for deepening understandings of self, our relationships, and our life story. My role is to help you clarify your inner struggles and challenges in the greater world with the hope of living a different, better, more fulfilling life. In navigating the therapeutic process in service of this aim, we’ll co-create the foundation necessary for our work: a genuine, trusting, and collaborative relationship.
To begin, we’ll establish an affirming space using power-sharing values to center your identities and truths so that you may speak honestly about whatever is most important to you. When I meet with people, I listen carefully for the contours of one’s experiences and one’s patterns for living. Over time, you will reclaim your inner strengths and expand your sense of freedom so that you may better understand your needs, wishes, and goals. My approach to therapy, drawn from psychodynamic principles, is integrative, holistic, and trauma-informed. I have worked clinically in a variety of professional settings including community mental health, schools, residential treatment, hospitals (inpatient/intensive outpatient programs), and as a service provider in research. I have experience working with individuals of all ages, couples and families with a particular focus on adolescents, emerging adults, severe acuity, and the LGBTQ+ community.
When things are not going well, inviting someone to bear witness to your suffering or vulnerability – our humanity – does not come easy, an act I recognize by meeting you where you are at with accepting, thoughtful engagement. I’m available to talk more or answer any questions you may have if you contact me using my listed email address or phone number.
